Live Blog Language Settings

Need a language Tickaroo Live Blog doesn’t support yet? Let’s work together to add your desired language to the tool!

Changing the Dashboard Language

With Tickaroo, you can easily switch your dashboard language between German and English.  Just follow these steps: Scroll to the Footer: Open the dashboard (applies to all pages except the editor) and scroll all the way down. Switch the Language: In the footer, you will find an option to switch between German and English. Simply select your preferred language. Personal Setting: The selected language applies only to your own Tickaroo account. It does not affect the live blog itself or the language settings of other users in your organization. Live Blog Specific Language Settings: Additionally, you can adjust the wording for your live blog’s display on your website within each live blog’s settings. Labels such as timestamp, highlights, and events will be automatically translated based on your selection. This way, you can ensure that you always work in the language that suits you best—both in your dashboard and on your live blog display on the website.

Changing the Live Blog Language

Each live blog's language can be customized individually—both during the creation of the live blog and later in its settings.  This setting applies exclusively to the selected live blog. It not only adjusts the wording in the live blog editor for the editorial team but also translates the terms displayed to your website's readers. For example, elements such as timestamps, chapters, highlights, summaries, comments, and other labels will be translated into your chosen language. Please note that some of the offered languages may not yet be fully translated. If you encounter any inconsistencies or if your desired language is not available, please feel free to contact us—we'll work together to find a solution and implement the necessary adjustments.

Adding Your Language to Tickaroo Live Blog

Tickaroo Live Blog supports multiple languages for displaying liveblog wording. If you need a new language added to the liveblog editor so your readers can enjoy content in their native language instead of English, we can collaborate to make it happen. We use the platform WebTranslateIt.com for this process. Once your request is processed, you will receive an invitation from Tickaroo to access WebTranslateIt. Here’s how to proceed: 1. Log in to webtranslateit.com: Click on the invitation link sent by Tickaroo to access the tool. 2. Navigate to the Translation Tool: At the top of the page, click on "Translations." 3. View Source and Target Languages: In the middle of the page, you will find the source language English on the left side and the target language (e.g., Dutch) on the right side. 4. Filter the Translation Segments: Don’t worry if you see a long list of words. To narrow it down:    - Select "Filter Segments…".    - Click "File" and choose the file with a "liveblog.json" ending. 5. Start Translating: The list is now shortened to only include the words that will appear to your readers on your website. Begin translating all listed words (e.g., 144 words in this example). 6. Save Your Work: Make sure to save as you go to avoid losing any translations. 7. Let Us Know When You’re Done: Once you’ve completed the translation, let us know, and we’ll deploy the changes. By following these steps, you can easily help us add your desired language to Tickaroo Live Blog!
