Content Stream: Tag Syndication

In the article Content Stream: Liveblog, we explain how to use a content stream to integrate content from one live blog into another, either fully automated or manually. Using the Tag Filter, you can also selectively transfer individual posts from one live blog to another. What is the Tag Filter, and how does it work? The Tag Filter allows you to assign one or more tags to your live blog posts. These tags can then be selected by readers on your website to filter the live blog for content relevant to them. For more details on the Tag Filter, check out: Assigning Tags to Posts How do you activate Tag Syndication? Create a new live blog content stream as explained in Content Stream: Liveblog. Select the source live blog from which you want to import content. It’s important that the posts in the source live blog are tagged. Then activate the option Syndicate Tags and choose the desired tags from the dropdown menu.   Can posts with the selected tags be automatically imported from the source live blog into the new live blog? Yes. Once you’ve chosen your desired tags while setting up the content stream, you can activate syndication. All posts in the source live blog with the selected tags will then automatically appear in your new live blog. What’s a practical use case? Example: Federal Election Create separate live blogs (source live blogs) for each electoral district in your region, filled with individual content. Additionally, create tags like Northern District, Southern District, Street Survey, and Interim Results, and assign them to your posts. Then create an overarching, regional live blog. Using the Content Stream Tag Syndication, you can automatically integrate posts from the source live blogs into your regional live blog based on their tags.
